Zomba Label Group (NOT A LABEL - add releases to subsidiary labels instead)

Founded in 1975, Zomba Group (aka Zomba Music Group, aka Zomba Group of Companies) was widely regarded as the most successful of the independent music companies. In 2002, they were purchased by Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) which subsequently restructured Zomba's labels under the new umbrella name Zomba Label Group. The group served as parent for many different labels including Jive, Silvertone, Volcano and LaFace (look under Relationships for more). In September 2007, together with RCA Music Group, it was placed under the charge of BMG Label Group.
