for this work, Philippe Paringaux adapted the lyrics* of the earlier french version titled "Jalousie" (with lyrics by André Mauprey and Jacques Larue) that had been recorded by, among others, french singer Anny Gould here (track Bd): https://www.discogs.com/release/3886624 — which would make this work an adaptation (text) of a french version of the original english version (with lyrics by Vera Bloom) that was in turn a later version of Jacob Gade's original tango composed in 1925.
