Государственная академическая симфоническая капелла России (State Symphony Capella of Russia, founded and often directed by V. Polyansky)

~ Orchestra

Annotation

Commonly referred to as either the Russian State Symphonic Cappella or Russian State Symphony Orchestra (in all Chandos releases) depending on the role it performs, this entity comprises both a chorus and an orchestra, and was formed in 1991 when the State Chamber Choir of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR and the State Symphony Orchestra of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR merged.

*****
Confusingly, several Russian orchestras have evidently used the name "Russian State Symphony Orchestra" at one time or another:
Russian State Symphony Cinema Orchestra; founded 1924
State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation (name used during tours); founded 1936
State Symphony Orchestra "Novaya Rossiya" (need to verify if its use for this artist is valid though…); founded 1990
State Symphony Cappella of Russia (this artist, which comprises both a chorus and an orchestra); founded 1991 by Valery Polyansky
also, see https://www.discogs.com/artist/3038426

to figure out which orchestra is the correct option if the credit is "Russian State Symphony Orchestra", the conductor or the recording year might offer clues. (eg, the latter two orchs above did not exist before 1990)
